“Before Athena, we could see that certain categories mattered, but we did not have a reliable way to understand where we were gaining or losing ground in AI answers. Now we can spot a specific competitive gap, build content around it, and see how that work improves our position.”

About Cozy Earth
Cozy Earth is a premium lifestyle brand known for its soft, temperature-regulating bedding, bath, sleepwear, and loungewear. Built around high-quality viscose from bamboo and designed for comfort in every season, Cozy Earth helps customers create a more comfortable home and everyday wardrobe.
The brand sells directly to consumers through Shopify and competes in categories where shoppers carefully compare fabric, feel, breathability, durability, reviews, and price before they buy. As more of that research moves into AI assistants and AI-powered search, Cozy Earth wanted to understand how its products and brand attributes appeared in those answers.
The Challenge
Cozy Earth had already built a strong reputation in bamboo bedding and women’s pajamas. The team knew those categories mattered. What they did not know was whether that strength showed up consistently in AI answers, or whether a competitor could gain ground before the shift was visible elsewhere.
Loungewear was a particular concern. The category was growing, and the team believed its position could change quickly. A topline visibility number would not show which competitor was closing in, which prompts were driving the change, or what content could help address it.
The company was also planning for growth in apparel. Cozy Earth was already earning consideration in women’s clothing and men’s clothing, but that attention had not yet translated into strong citation performance. With a two-person content team, the question was simple: where should they focus next?
The Strategy
Cozy Earth started narrow and expanded deliberately as the program matured, growing the tracked prompt set from a couple dozen questions to more than 500 across bedding, sleepwear, loungewear, and comparison-style queries, against 22 named competitors and five assistants.
Category-level and competitor-level views let the team watch specific matchups over time instead of waiting for an annual review to surface a trend. When one of those views showed a lead narrowing quarter over quarter in loungewear, the team didn’t wait for a topline number to catch up. They already had a competitor-focused piece on temperature-regulating pajamas live; based on what the data showed about where the gap was actually opening up (“loungewear you can run errands in” searches), they briefed and shipped a new piece aimed squarely at that opportunity.
The team now uses the same process in apparel: track performance, identify the gap, create content, and measure the outcome. Prompt- and category-level data helps them find apparel queries where Cozy Earth is appearing in answers but is not yet earning citations, then prioritize the content most likely to strengthen that position.
Content production was also part of the strategy. As a two-person team, Cozy Earth needed drafts that were close to its brand voice and ready for a light review, not a full rewrite. That made it possible to maintain a consistent publishing cadence while competing with much larger brands.
A Narrowing Gap Became Cozy Earth’s Strongest Position of the Year
Within one quarter of publishing its targeted loungewear content, Cozy Earth roughly quadrupled citation volume in the category. Its lead in the loungewear matchup the team was watching grew to 30 points, up from less than one point earlier in the year. It was the brand’s widest lead in that category all year.
Category Performance
Brand Attributes
Cozy Earth’s AI search visibility is also becoming more closely tied to the qualities it wants customers to associate with the brand.
”Soft” is now near-universal: used in about 9 out of 10 answers that mention Cozy Earth, up from roughly 3 out of 4 a year ago.
”Premium” and “Breathable” are climbing: up to 59% and 69% of answers respectively.
The team is not only increasing how often Cozy Earth appears in AI answers. It is strengthening the product attributes that show up alongside the brand.
Overall Visibility
As of August 2026, Cozy Earth is the most-mentioned brand among the 22 competitors it tracks. The brand appears in 23.7% of tracked AI answers, more than 2.5x the share of the next-closest competitors: lululemon at 9.4% and Vuori at 9.2%.
That lead holds on non-branded discovery prompts, where Cozy Earth appears in 23.3% of tracked answers. From May to July 2026, both mention rate and citation rate increased by roughly 1.5x, even as the team continued expanding the prompt set.

Content Earning Citations
AI assistants most often cite Cozy Earth’s bamboo pajamas, women’s pajamas, bamboo jersey bedding, men’s lounge sets, core product pages, and category collection pages. That asset-level data gives the team a practical view of what is working and where to build next.
What Comes Next
Cozy Earth is applying the same approach that strengthened its loungewear position to apparel. The team can see where the brand is already earning consideration, where citations are lagging, and which content opportunities are worth prioritizing.
”Athena gives us a practical way to see where Cozy Earth shows up in AI search and decide what to do next. We started with a couple dozen tracked questions and now monitor more than 500. We can see which categories, answers, and pages are driving our visibility, then keep a real publishing cadence without adding headcount.” — Alex Nelson, Director of Digital Product, Cozy Earth
